Resource Assistance

When you beat the olives from your olive trees, don’t go over the boughs twice. Leave the remaining olives for the foreigners, orphans, and widows.

Deuteronomy 24:20

I believe it is in our nature to experience health & wellness holistically - body, mind, and spirit.

As a homesteader who values resourcefulness and balanced self-sufficiency by utilizing land to grow and raise a portion of food as well as enjoying the amazing urban resources available, I am in consistent awe of the abundant provision and simplicity of the cycles of nature and the natural and nuanced resources available to nurture holistic health & wellness.

Health & wellness can come from the simplest of resources such as fresh food grown from tiny seeds, from well provided for livestock, or from the fresh air, sunshine, and physiological and psychological balance received from going on a walk or hike while exploring the natural landscape and wildlife.

In a more urban setting, there is an abundant availability of exciting socially nourishing resources such as farmers markets and creative restaurants as well as an array of physical activity resources such as parks & recreation areas and fitness studios, etc. that provide wellness enrichment and greater social connection.

In addition, receiving regular healthcare such as care from physicians, specialists (dietitians!), dentists, psychologists, therapists (dietitians are nutrition therapists!), etc. adds to health-related activities of daily living that supports and reinforces the experience and security of subjective health & wellness.

Unfortunately, these resources are not always available or accessible to everyone often due to socioeconomic circumstances that can determine health & wellness. Medical nutrition therapy is not always covered by insurance or may be limited in coverage and therefore can be inaccessible or ineffective due to limited duration despite needing the care, treatment, and support a dietitian can provide within an interdisciplinary team.

Because I believe we are called to provide for those in need, 10% of Nature & Nurture Nutrition Therapy’s resources {gross revenue, clinical time, nutrition therapy tools, etc.} are applied towards subsidizing medical nutrition therapy for those in financial need through The Olive Branch Program.

The Olive Branch Program seeks to improve access to healthcare and increase health & wellness by providing medical nutrition therapy care, treatment, and services for those in need of both medical nutrition therapy as well as the financial assistance to receive that specialized care.

To apply for assistance with paying for medical nutrition therapy, please complete the form below and Nature & Nurture Nutrition Therapy will connect with you to discuss details of assistance as well as request required information related to proof of need.

The Olive Branch Program

But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God.
